Concrete cooling uses ice to control the temperature of fresh concrete in hot climates and large-volume pours. When the concrete temperature is too high, hydration heat and environmental heat can increase the risk of thermal cracks, strength loss and inconsistent curing.
Flake ice is one of the most practical cooling media for batching plants because it melts quickly and evenly inside the mix. Thicker flake ice has stronger thermal mass, which means each kilogram can carry more useful cooling effect before it fully melts.
For construction projects, containerized flake ice systems are especially valuable. They reduce site installation work, shorten commissioning time and can be moved when the project changes location.
